Our Programs
One of the primary goals for students at MCC is to teach and prepare our students to be successful in school, their home, and their community. As our students progress through their education, our goal is to prepare our students for less restrictive environments, as appropriate, for each individual learner. To achieve this, MCC offers several classroom models including a one-to-one supported teaching model and a less restrictive two-to-one teaching model. We believe that both of these models are key components to successfully transition our students into less restrictive classrooms.
-
ABA 1:1 Classroom Model
MCC’s 1:1 classrooms provide individualized instruction throughout the day to meet the needs of learners while creating a foundation for academic, self-management, social, verbal behavior, and leisure skills. -
ABA 2:1 Classroom Model
MCC’s Two-to-One classrooms were developed to meet the needs of learners whose academic and self-management skills were progressing and for those who are ready for increased opportunities to participate in dyads and small groups with individually faded instruction to do so. -
2:1 Crossbridge Program
Crossbridge at MCC was designed to “bridge the gap” between restrictive 1:1 settings involving intensive instruction and support throughout the day and less restrictive, more traditional academic classroom settings. -
Occupational Therapy
Occupation therapy helps students participate in meaningful activities they like and need to do within the school, home and community environments. -
Speech & Language Therapy
Speech therapy focuses on improving the understanding and use of communication across all modalities. Speech and language therapy aims to expand the receptive, expressive and pragmatic language of our students using their verbal, augmentative, gestural and/or body language. -
Enrichment Programs
MCC offers licensed social work assistance to improve the lives of students and their families, as well as an adaptive physical education program and music therapy program to address various developmental and emotional needs through physical and musical activities. -
Social Programs
Lack of social skills is one of the core deficits of Autism, and we put a significant focus on programming for social opportunities throughout the day, including weekly social skills groups and events such as peer buddy and inclusion sessions. -
Family Programs
MCC understands that our students' needs go beyond the classroom, and as such we provide a wealth of family programs and supports to ensure that learning doesn’t stop with the classroom.
